James A. Davis, MD

While in medical school, Dr. Davis had mentors that were all nephrologists. Finding them to be the most astute clinicians and holding them in the highest regard, Dr. Davis chose to specialize in that field as well. To this day, he holds himself to the highest standards and strives to emulate their professionalism.

What sets Dr. Davis apart is his willingness to listen to everything his patients have to say. He also possesses a dogged determination to finish cases, whether in the procedure room, ICU or the office. His most common procedures are dialysis vascular access procedures, angioplasties, maturation procedures, and thrombectomies.

In and outside of the office, Dr. Davis has a deep-seated dedication to underserved patients. While practicing in Missouri as Associate Professor of Medicine for Washington University, he became a Missouri Notary and organized and carried out multiple voter registration drives and assisted with ballot certification and collection. He is a believer that all deserve to have their voices heard. A fun fact about Dr. Davis is that he is a motorcycle enthusiast and will ride in just about any type of weather.

Bharvi P. Oza-Gajera, MD

Janice G. Nigos, MD

Dr. Nigos is a specialist in nephrology, a field she chose due to its challenging nature and the need for a deep understanding of critical care and internal medicine. Her particular interests lie in managing acute kidney injury, electrolyte abnormalities, and acid-base disorders. She is passionate about the holistic care nephrologists provide to patients with chronic kidney disease and their families and is dedicated to improving their quality of life, especially for those who require dialysis.

Dr. Nigos always makes sure to spend enough time with each patient to explain their condition and management and to answer all their questions and concerns. She collaborates with other physicians to provide the best care for her patients.

In her free time, Dr. Nigos enjoys watching movies and reading. She also loves to travel and try new cuisines. She even cooks and bakes for fun.

Amit Rajput, MD, MBA

Dr. Rajput began his medical career as part of the Leadership in Medicine program at Union College, where he obtained two Bachelor’s Degrees in Biological Sciences and Economics. His passion for healthcare compelled his travels abroad, studying global healthcare systems around the world. He cultivated this passion by obtaining a Master’s of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Health Care Administration from Union Graduate College and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Albany Medical Center. 

Dr. Rajput completed his residency training at NYU Winthrop Hospital, during which he served in numerous roles, including Assistant Chief Resident, House Staff Quality Committee Chairman, and Clinical Instructor for the Stony Brook School of Medicine. He further specialized his training through a Nephrology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Rajput’s passion for teaching landed him the role of the Director of Nephrology Education for TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital, where he works with Internal Medicine residents to build their nephrology knowledge. 

In addition to his multiple lectures, he has published his research in several renowned nephrology journals and has given presentations both at the local and national levels. To further expand his skill set, Dr. Rajput completed a training program in Interventional Nephrology and has started working here at the Dialysis Access Center of Cincinnati.

In his spare time, Dr. Rajput enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons. He is a sports enthusiast, and his favorite sport is baseball. Although he never fulfilled his dream of playing for the NY Yankees, he now enjoys playing for the TriHealth softball team.

Dr. Rajput is proud to represent the Dialysis Access Center of Cincinnati, where he promises to use his passion for health care and medical knowledge to provide the best care for his patients.

Eli Lancaster, MD

Dr. Lancaster was drawn to nephrology early in his internal medicine residency. He has a biochemistry degree and he enjoyed studying renal physiology. After doing his first clinical nephrology rotation, he could not see himself doing anything else.

He has now been in practice since 2012. His focus as a physician is on patient care and patient experience. Dr. Lancaster’s patients inspire him with what they overcome on a daily basis. His part is to do the best he can to understand their fears and priorities to guide them in finding the best treatment options.

When he is not working, he spends as much time as he can with his family and his two boys. Together, they enjoy camping, boating, and cooking at the campsite. He hopes to try his hand at farming as they get older.

Brian Revis, MD

Dr. Revis is a Cincinnati native. He chose nephrology because of the wide range of interesting clinical issues that nephrologists can help treat. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Dr. Revis aims to improve and promote the health of all his patients through comprehensive, evidence-based care.

A devoted clinical educator, Dr. Revis is proud to be an invited speaker to many physician training programs across the city, including Jewish Hospital, Bethesda North Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Christ Hospital, and the University of Cincinnati. He also participates in education with the Department of Nephrology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In his free time, Dr. Revis enjoys backpacking and playing the guitar.

Snehal Patel, MD

Dr. Patel chose nephrology because of the complexity of the patient. The best mentors that he had in residency were nephrologists. This also influenced him to pursue a career in nephrology. Renal disease can be a life-altering diagnosis. Being a nephrologist gives Dr. Patel the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.

His most common procedures include dialysis, plasmapheresis, insertion of temporary and tunnel dialysis catheters, graft and fistula angiograms, graft and fistula thrombectomies, and vein mapping.

Dr. Patel considers himself to be down-to-earth, easy to get along with, and relatable. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Frank J. Albers, MD

Professionally, Dr. Albers was attracted to nephrology due to his interest in physiology, especially kidney physiology. However, he had a unique perspective in that his father was a hemodialysis patient in the 1970s. Living with and helping a family member with kidney disease made Dr. Albers particularly empathetic to the difficulties patients face with this disease: he was both comfortable with the disorder and wanted to help kidney patients even before his professional training.

Dr. Albers’ experience through UC Medical Center and IU Medical Center made him proficient in dealing with complex general medical problems. His time at Duke University Medical Center, both in training and as an assistant professor, expanded his experience in a wide variety of kidney diseases and treatments. He further expanded his skills by training as an interventional nephrologist, approaching 20 years of performing procedures on dialysis accesses.

Dr. Albers has a particular interest in dialysis therapy, dialysis access problems, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and glomerulonephritis (inflammatory disease of the kidney). His time working with his cardiology colleagues in multiple settings has also made him proficient in cardio-renal syndromes.

In his spare time, you may find Dr. Albers out riding his bike on the bike trail or through the countryside. He also plays music: baritone, trombone, and tuba. Perhaps you will see him at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati with his German band, Vereins Musikanten, or over the holidays with Santa’s Goody Bag Band, raising funds for children’s charities.

Chebel Khalil, MD

Dr. Khalil was born and raised in Lebanon. He completed medical school at the Lebanese University and decided to pursue higher education in the United States. His journey started in Michigan, where he graduated in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Health System and was valedictorian of his residency class. He is also a graduate of Wayne State University, where he earned his Nephrology fellowship and was a chief fellow during his last year of training.

Dr. Khalil has extensive training in Interventional Nephrology and has performed over 5,000 procedures involving dialysis accesses. He constantly applies new techniques and uses a multi-disciplinary approach to treat difficult cases and challenging scenarios. He also enjoys all aspects of Nephrology and is dedicated to providing exceptional care in his office, hospital rounds, and dialysis management.

As a patient, you can expect to be greeted by Dr. Khalil with a caring and professional attitude. You will get his individual attention during your appointment, and he will be responsive to your concerns and calls. He is driven by the challenge and finds great satisfaction and incredible privilege in serving his patients.

Dr. Khalil speaks English, French, and Arabic. When he isn’t at work, he loves spending time with his family, traveling, and playing the keyboard.

Antoine L. Samaha, MD

From his early days in medical school, Dr. Samaha developed a fascination with the intricate details of the inner workings of the kidney, where the blood is processed through its 1 million tiny filters and ensuing complex handling of minerals, waste and other substances that are carried through its tiny “plumbing” units. This fascinating, precious, and vital organ is dear to his heart and made him pursue his specialty in Nephrology. Dr. Samaha takes this job very seriously and, treats every single patient with respect, open ears, and thrives to provide patient-centered and individualized care with a service that is second to none.

In addition to his interest and work in General Nephrology since 1999, he also pursued training and practice in Interventional Nephrology in early 2002 to manage the dialysis access (known as the “lifeline”) of patients with late and end-stage kidney disease in our community. 

These procedures are performed here at the Dialysis Access Center of Cincinnati, where unparalleled service is provided based on three tenets: safety, comfort, and superior outcomes. This access center is one of the busiest and most unique in the nation and provides all lines of services in the dialysis access field, which makes it unique not only in the Tristate area but also in the entire region. 

Dr. Samaha combines this expertise with absolute devotion to compassionate care and an extensive track record of industry-leading patient satisfaction and outcomes.
